New lanterns to illuminate (ultra) light dark matter
DAM seminar room (724 , ICC building, UB Campus)
21/02/2020 - 00/00/0000
The landscape of dark matter models extends to masses well below those accessible by traditional detectors, based on nuclear recoil. In particular axions and axion-like particles are in this category. A new battery of ideas is emerging to detect these dark matter candidates, from astrophysical or laboratory tests.

In this talk I'll first describe the phenomenological aspects specific to light and ultra-light dark matter behind these developments. To give a flavour of the breadth of the new ideas, I'll present two complementary proposals to shed light on otherwise unconstrained dark matter candidates. They are based on the the use of galactic rotation curves (astrophysics) and co-magnetometers (laboratory).
